When you have ordered the software, you will receive a download link at the e-mail address you specified. There is also a download link on the invoice page after your order was completed. The e-mail received will be from bill@spcforexcel.com and will be titled "Your Download Information." The link will be at the bottom of the e-mail. Do the following:
Check to see if the download link went into your spam or junk e-mail folder. If it is not there, e-mail us at support@spcforexcel.com or call us at 1-800-274-2874.
E-mail us at support@spcforexcel.com or call us at 1-800-274-2874 and we will send you a new download link.
The most likely reason for this is that your macro security is set too high. For Excel 2000 - 2003, do the following:
For Excel 2007, do the following:
It is not recommended that you select "Enable all macros".
If the macro setting is correct and you still don't see the menu, the program may not be checked as an add-in in Excel. For Excel 2000 - 2003, do the following:
For Excel 2007,
If SPC for MS Excel is not listed in the add-ins, the program did not install properly. Please try re-installing the program or contacting us.
See the above answer for "Why can't I see the SPC toolbar after I install the program?".
The installation files store the files in two different places. The program files are installed in the following default directory: C:/Document and Settings/Users/Username/Application Data in a folder called SPC_for_MS_Excel. In Excel 2007, the default directory is C:/Users/Username/AppData/Roaming. Username in the above is whatever your user name is. You have the option to change this directory at the time of installation. You will want to change the option if you have multiple users on the same computer. If you install the program under Program Files, any user on the computer can access the program.
The instruction manual and example workbooks are stored in My Documents in a folder called SPC for MS Excel. In Excel 2007, the files are stored under your user name in the folder called Documents.
The instruction manual should be in My Documents (or just Documents in Excel 2007) in a folder called SPC for MS Excel. If it is not there, you can download the instruction manual (3.3 MB zipped) by clicking the link below. There are actually three instruction manuals: General Instructions, MSA Instructions, and DOE/Regression Instructions.
The program has extensive error-trapping. In most cases, the program will catch something that is wrong and let you know what the problem is. If there is an unknown error, you will get a message box that contains the error description. If the error continues, please send the workbook to support@spcforexcel.com with a description of the problem or call us at 1-800-274-2874.
Some users may get this error message after upgrading to a new service pack for Office (e.g., Office 2003 SP3 or Office 2007 SP2). This is not a problem with our software. It is a problem with the installation of Office. Bob Flanagan has laid out a methodology to fix the Office installation problem. He reported this methodology on Jon Peltier's blog (click here). The procedure is given below.
You can get detailed step-by-step instructions by Bob for each Excel version at this link:

Some users have reported getting this message when trying to download the software. The downloaded version should be about 17 MB in size. If you get this message and right click on the downloaded file, it will probably be about 600KB in size. If this is the case, your anti-virus program is most likely stopping the download of the software program. The program in written using Visual Basic for Applications. Some anti-virus programs pick this code up as a possible source of a virus. You can download the program by turning off your anti-virus program and then turning it back when you have download the program.

The version and build number will be at the bottom of the add-in box .
We periodically make revisions to the program. This includes adding new techniques to the program. The software is designed to automatically check for a new revision on-line. You can check anytime by selecting the option from the toolbar. To see a history of revisions to version 4, please click here.
